In this workshop we will take an in-depth look at Facebook. We will get discuss how to get started by creating an account as well as discuss how it can be used as a tool for learning.

Web 2.0: Google Docs

Google Docs provides a convenient way to create, edit and view documents, spreadsheets or presentations from anywhere you have an internet connection. As a part of Google Apps faculty, staff and students now have the ability to do their work or assignments anywhere! In this session we will discuss how to use Google Docs in the office and the classroom.

Web 2.0: Marketing Your Campus Services with Social Networking
Social networking is a great way to connect with students both on and off of campus.  In this workshop we will share strategies and ideas to help promote the services your office provides at The University of Findlay. We will discuss several tools that can be used such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.

Web 2.0: Online Bookmarking with del.icio.us

Learn how to use del.icio.us, a social bookmarking website. The primary use of del.icio.us is to store your bookmarks online, which allows you to access the same bookmarks from any computer and add bookmarks from anywhere, too.

Web 2.0: Online Gadgets
This workshop will discuss a number of services available free on the internet and at UF to house your data: Flickr for photos, The UF Calendar, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Spreadsheets, del.icio.us for bookmarks, Pandora for music playlists, usershares for files and Youtube for videos.

Since 2004 we have seen a wave of new internet based tools created under the idea known as “web 2.0”. In the session we will explore various Web 2.0 tools that can be implemented for practical classroom use.

What is it?  Why should we use it?  How can it be used meaningfully in courses?  These questions and more will be answered as we introduce faculty to the world-wide phenomenon of Twitter. In the session we will discuss how to start “Tweeting” and strategies for how it is being used across college campuses.
