Housing And Residence Life

Sibs and Kids Weekend

3, 2, 1...Blastoff!!!

Attention UF students, parents, faculty and staff members:

The University of Findlay would like to invite you to join us for an out of this world experience! It is once again time to prepare for Sibs and Kids Weekend. Sibs and Kids Weekend is a time for students and University employees to invite their brothers, sisters, cousins, and children to UF to spend a weekend visiting family and friends and get a glimpse of campus life at The University of Findlay. Siblings are invited to stay in residence halls*, eat in the dining hall, tour the campus, and participate in the activities we have planned.  Student Services and the Student Government Association would like to extend an invitation to you to join us for Sibs and Kids 2009.

The theme for Sibs and Kids 2009 is "Sibs and Kids: An Intergalactic Adventure".  It will begin the evening of Friday, April 3rd with registration in the AMU and will conclude with a matinee the afternoon of Sunday, April 5th.  We’ve planned many activities over the three days and can’t wait for you to join us.  This weekend will include fun for all ages.  Some attractions include:

  • Wall-E on the big screen"
  • Team Rootberry
  • A giant inflatable carnival
  • Story time in and a tour of the Mazza Museum International Art from Picture Books - the world's first and largest teaching museum devoted to literacy and the art of children's picture books.
  • Wax hands, photo booth pictures and a caricature artist
  • Ice-skating and swimming
  • Drawings, prizes, and more!

There is a $10 registration fee per “sib or kid”.  This registration fee will allow each “sib or kid” to eat meals in Henderson Dining Hall, participate in the many attractions, and get a t-shirt to commemorate the weekend.  The UF student or employee hosting a “sib or kid” does not pay a registration fee for themselves, but, if not enrolled in a meal plan, will need to purchase a Sibs and Kids meal card for $10.00 at the time of check-in at the registration tables in order to eat meals.

Please return the enclosed registration form along with any applicable registration fees to the address listed on the registration form.  The Agreement to Participate form should be completed for each “sib or kid” by a parent or legal guardian.  The Agreement to Participate form MUST be completed in order to participate in the weekend’s activities.  If you need additional forms, they can be accessed online at:  http://www.findlay.edu (Keyword: “sibs”).

Many “sibs and kids” will choose to stay overnight with their host.  Remember to bring all the gear you’ll need for the weekend.  We suggest items such as a pillow, sleeping bag, shower items, swimsuit, favorite toys, medication, etc.  To see the schedule of events, flip this page over!  If you have any questions, please contact Student Services at (419) 434-4570.

We look forward to seeing you at Sibs and Kids 2009!

*Sibs of the opposite gender who are under 12 years of age may stay with their host in their residence hall room.  Sibs over 12 who are the opposite gender of their host must stay in another residence hall with someone of the same gender.  This is not usually a problem as friends are always willing to help out.
