PKI - Configuring Outlook Express

There are no special configuration instructions for Outlook Express. Once you have successfully installed your digtal certificate, it is ready for use with Outlook Express. If you have not installed your digital certificate, please use the applicable documentation to do so.

Using PKI with Outlook Express.

Open Outlook Express and click on Create mail.

Compose your email.

Prior to sending, click on the digital signature button located in the toolbar in the upper right hand portion of your screen:

 If you want to also encrypt the message, you must first have received a digitally signed message from the person with whom you wish you exchange encrypted email. Once you receive a message with a digital signature from someone, you may then use the encrypt message button if you wish to encrypt email to them in the future.
