All users who plan to use the University's network must make sure these programs are installed and up-to-date before coming to campus:

1. Bradford Network Access System - Download
2. Antivirus Software - This software must have the most current virus definitions.  We offer Corporate Edition Symantec Antivirus to all UF students at no cost.  If you choose to use Symantec Antivirus, make sure you uninstall any other antivirus programs first. - Download
   
3. Java - All students are required to have Java installed.  Please go to www.java.com and install the most current version of Java.
   
4. Spyware Protection - Windows Defender for XP Download.  Vista users, Windows Defender is integrated into the operating system.
   
5. Lynx Messenger - This is an emergency notification service. Download
6. Windows Updates - All users need to make sure their computers are up-to-date with the most recent updates from Microsoft.

Completing this list will decrease the amount of time you will spend connecting to the University's network the first time.
