Simple Troubleshooting Tips for the Technology Enhanced Classrooms

Computer Won’t Log-on:

Completely power-down the computer and power on again. The computer will automatically log-on so do not touch any controls on the computer until it is completely booted.

Check the network cord to the computer and to the wall or floor connection, did the get loose or unplugged?

Cordless Mouse Not Working Correctly:

If you touch either mouse before the computer is logged on, one or both of the mice may not function correctly. Turn the computer completely off and reboot without touching the mouse to the computer.

No Power to Any or All Equipment:

Did the Desk become unplugged? Is the power switch on the desk turned on?

Remote Control Has No Power:

Is the R/C On/Off button on the side of the projector remote switched to ON?

VCR or Computer Display will not Display on the Screen:

If the VCR display is not showing on the screen make sure that you have opened the bottom of the remote and pressed the Video button to “Video” (you may have to press the button twice because this button also contains the command for “SVideo”).

Computer Display: Computer display is not showing on the screen. Make sure you have opened the bottom of the remote and pressed the PC1 or PC2 button. If the person before you was showing a VCR tape chances the projector is still in “video” mode.

Laptop Display: If you are bringing a laptop (PC or Mac) for a class you will need to make sure that you are aware of your laptops settings and display resolutions before hooking it into the projector. The projector reads best at 1024x768 resolution.

If you are using a Macintosh computer you will need to make sure that the “Mirroring” control is turned on.This is located in the control tab or control panel of your Macintosh.

The projector connection for the laptops is located at the top of the desk along with the network connection cord. For the projector to project the laptop image to the screen you will need to make sure that you have the projector remote turned to the opposite one of the main computer.  This will be PC2 but in some cases may be PC1.

Volume:

If the volume needs to be softer or louder you will need to open the bottom of the projector remote and click on the right -  to decrease the volume and the left + to increase the volume.
