Synchronization of email, calendar, contacts, and tasks to your BlackBerry mobile device is unsupported by Information Technology Services at this time.

Third-party software products do exist that allow synchronization of these items to your BlackBerry mobile device.  There is an annual fee for this type service and a setup/configuration process that you must complete.  Both the annual fee and the risk of using these products with your smartphone are your responsibility.

If you choose to synchronize your device with our Zimbra Collaboration Suite, ITS has tested and confirmed usability of the AstraSync product, which can be purchased at http://www.astrasync.com/. Their annual fee is $49.00 to use their product on your smartphone.


Follow these steps to complete the synchronization process:

1. Click on the following link to register for an AstraSync Portal account and request the software. Register for AstraSync 
2. You will recieve a SMS text message on your phone with instructions on how to download and install the software.
3. Follow this link for setup and configuration. AstraSync Setup  On the Server Configuration page use the following: 
   • Server Configuration
     • Email address:  yourUFnetName@findlay.edu
     • Server: mobilemail.findlay.edu
     • Domain: findlay.edu
     • Username:  yourUFnetName
     • Password: yourUFnetPassword
     • Use SSL should be checked
