Synchronization of email, calendar, contacts, and tasks to your Palm mobile device is reported to work with Zimbra, however Information Technology Services can offer no support or assistance for doing so at this time.

Zimbra provides steps for supported devices (shown at right) to synchronize. Third-party software products do exist that allow device synchronization.  Both methods have potential risk to loss of data with your smartphone or PDA and the processes to complete the setup/configuration are your responsibility.

If you choose to synchronize your device with our Zimbra Collaboration Suite, the following steps are required.  Please backup your data before beginning this process.

1. Tap Menubar, Tap Accounts, Tap Setup, Tap New
2. Enter an Account Name you would like displayed on your device.
3. Setup account as an "Exchange/ActiveSync" account and Tap Next
4. Enter your  UFnet username in your full email address form:  yourUFnetName@findlay.edu and then your password then Tap Next
5. Email address should be displayed for you, if not enter your email address. Tap Next.
6. Enter the mail server as:  mobilemail.findlay.edu and Tap Next
7. Tap Advanced, and make sure that the “Use Secure Connection (SSL).” checkbox is checked. The Port Number should read 443
8. Tap Done
9. When Versamail asks if you want to continue, Tap Yes.  Do not Tap Sync until you have completed a backup of your appointments as this process will delete any existing information.
10. Tap Sync.  Your calendar information from your default Zimbra calendar (named Calendar in Zimbra) will now sync with your Palm device.
