Russel and Peg Armstrong Business Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Marguerite “Peg” Armstrong to honor her late husband’s achievements and success in their own business. It is designed to assist students who are majoring in business. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA.

Jane Eoff Burson Scholarship
The Jane Eoff Burson Scholarship was established in Mrs. Burson’s honor on her birthday in 1993 by her son, John, a UF trustee emeritus. The scholarship is awarded to a female student interested in pursuing a career in business.

R.M. Churchwell Scholarship
Friends and family established the R.M. Churchwell Scholarship in 1996 in Mr. Churchwell’s memory. The scholarship is awarded to students who are majoring in business. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA.

College of Business Endowed Fund for the Support of Non-Traditional Business Programs
This fund has anonymously been endowed by an alum in conjunction with The University of Findlay’s 125th Endowed Funds Drive. The weekend and non-traditional degree program is an excellent opportunity for individuals to further their education while working full-time as it combines textbook learning with practical on-the-job experiences. It also brings a variety of people together who share different ideas based upon their own areas of experience in the working world. This endowment will provide support to the College of Business for the promotion of the weekend college and degree completion non-traditional undergraduate business program.

George and Nellie Crosby Scholarship

Established by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Crosby, the George and Nellie Crosby Scholarship is awarded to a freshman majoring in business at UF, who displays distinct Christian ethics and leadership qualities by involvement in extracurricular activities in high school or preparatory school. George B. and Nellie Crosby were Mr. Philip Crosby’s grandparents.

Dana Business Division Endowed Chair
Established in 1992 by the Dana Corporation, this fund provides for a distinguished member of the business community to serve as an adviser and guest lecturer for The University of Findlay business program.

Thomas B. Donnell Business Leadership Award
The Thomas B. Donnell Business Leadership Award was established by Thomas B. Donnell ’70. Mr. Donnell received a Doctor of Financial Management degree in 1998. Recipients must be pursuing a degree in the business administration program within the College of Business, be in their third year of study at UF and have a minimum GPA of 2.75. In addition, recipients are to have demonstrated a willingness and ability to participate in extracurricular activities.

Filtech Inc. Scholarship
Filtech Incorporated of Findlay, Ohio, established the Filtech Inc. Scholarship in 1996 to be awarded to a student majoring in international business or business administration with an interest in international business. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for this scholarship.

Dr. Vernon E. Garner Endowed Fund for Entrepreneurial Excellence
This fund has been established through the generosity and foresight of Dr. Garner  and is designed to encourage entrepreneurial initiatives and ensure that such endeavors are grounded in good business practice and firm ethical foundations. It will be used to create a student entrepreneurial financing program to help incubate student-driven start-up businesses as part of the undergraduate educational experience. Interested students should contact the Dean of the College of Business for further guidelines. Dr. Garner received an honorary Doctor of Entrepreneurial Business Development degree in 1996.

James “Jim” Heck Scholarship
Beth Bradley Heck established this scholarship to honor her husband. Applicants with an interest in business and/or real estate, investment or development will have first preference. A 2.70 GPA is required.

John W. ’14 and Hester (Powell ’19) Grimm Business Scholarship

Hester Powell Grimm established the Grimm Business Scholarship in 1993 to assist students who have a declared major in the business administration program within the College of Business. The scholarship is renewable with a 3.0 GPA.

John L. Houston ’42 Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2006 upon Mr. Houston’s passing by his family and friends. John wanted to assist students in the same manner that he was supported. This scholarship is awarded to a business major who is a graduate of Van Buren High School, or another Hancock County High School. The recipient must have at least a 3.0 GPA.

Established by Dr. Gupta and his family, this award is to recognize teaching excellence in the College of Business.

Gupta Business Scholarship
Former students and friends have established the Shiv K. Gupta Business Scholarship Endowment Fund to honor Professor Gupta’s dedication and guidance to students in the College of Business. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student majoring in business and who exhibits leadership qualities and entrepreneurial spirit and is involved in campus activities. The recipient must have a 3.0 GPA.

Charles Z. Hardwick Operating Scholarship
Carolyn Karg has established the Charles Z. Hardwick Operating Scholarship Fund in memory of her father and honoring the work he did with students at the then Findlay College during the 1960s and 1970s. This scholarship shall be awarded to a student majoring in the College of Business who is hard working and dedicated to studying. The recipient must have a 2.8 GPA and demonstrate leadership skills and qualities for success.

Hospitality Management Scholarship
Friends of The University of Findlay have established the Hospitality Management Scholarship Endowment Fund. This scholarship will assist students in their sophomore, junior or senior year of study who are enrolled in the Hospitality Management Program.

Charles A. Jackson Scholarship
The Charles A. Jackson Scholarship was established as a tribute to him by his wife, Margaret Jackson, and his family. Mr. Jackson served on the Findlay City Schools’ Board of Education and also on the UF Board of Trustees. He was employeed at Marathon Oil Company for 37 years. Prior to retirement, he was Vice President of Finance. Mr. Jackson was an educator by avocation, spending a lifetime of reading, study and service. The scholarship is awarded to deserving business administration majors who have exhibited leadership in campus activities, clubs and organizations.

Harry M. Kirk Memorial Scholarship
The Harry M. Kirk ’16 Memorial Scholarship was established in 1986 by Mary Snyder Kirk in memory of her husband, who studied business administration at UF. Mr. Kirk was a highly successful businessman in the milling industry, wholesale grocery business and real estate. He gave generously of his time and resources to support the college and assist students. The scholarship is awarded annually to an academically outstanding junior or senior business student.

The Donald Knepper ’15 Scholarship was established in 1981 by his sister, Elizabeth K. Steen, to be awarded to deserving students majoring in business administration.

Frederick Kremer Jr. Scholarship
The friends and family of Frederick Kremer Jr. have established the Frederick Kremer Jr. Scholarship Endowment Fund at The University of Findlay. Mr. Kremer was a UF trustee from 1993 to 1998. He received an honorary Doctor of Corporate Management in 1998. He was instrumental in establishing the endowment policy at The University of Findlay and was a very successful businessman. This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in business who carries a 3.0 or better GPA.

Ralph L. Kuss Scholarship
The Ralph L. Kuss Scholarship was established by his wife, Catherine Kuss, in 1979 in memory of the founder of Kuss Corporation. The scholarship is awarded annually to an academically deserving student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in economics.

Martha Draper Lape Scholarship
Established in 1996 by Martha Draper Lape, this scholarship is awarded annually to female residents of Hancock County who are pursuing business-related majors, are juniors or seniors, and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Gordon and Marilyn Macklin Merit Scholarship
The Gordon and Marilyn Macklin Merit Scholarship was established by Gordon and Marilyn Macklin in 1986. Mr. Macklin received a Doctor of Laws degree in 1979, and Mrs. Macklin served as a UF trustee from 1986-89. Because of Mr. Macklin’s distinguished career as an executive leader in corporate finance, capital formation, international banking and the National Association of Securities Dealers, this award is given annually to business students with outstanding academic records.

Hazel and Bert Miller Business Scholarship
Hazel Miller has established the Hazel and Bert Miller Business Scholarship at The University of Findlay. This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in business who maintains a 3.0 GPA.

Owens-Illinois Plastic Products Division Scholarship
The Owens-Illinois Plastic Products Division Scholarship was established through the UF Horizons capital campaign by Owens-Illinois to be awarded annually as a merit scholarship to an outstanding student majoring in business.

James I. Poole ’33 Scholarship
The James I. Poole ’33 Scholarship was established by his wife, Betty Poole Holmes. Awarded annually, the scholarship is given to students in a business-related major who are sophomores, juniors or seniors,with preference given to students who are involved in extracurricular activities, work part-time to meet college expenses and are residents of Hancock County.

James R. Rettig Sr. Scholarship
Realizing the need for financial assistance for many young people to attend college and being an Arlington High School graduate and a graduate of The University of Findlay, Mr. James Rettig has established the James R. Rettig Sr. Scholarship Endowment Fund at The University of Findlay. The recipient must be an Arlington High School graduate majoring in business and have at least a 2.75 GPA.

Dr. Patrick W. Rooney Scholarship
The University of Findlay Board of Trustees has established this scholarship to honor Dr. Rooney for his years of service to the University as chairman of the Board. Dr. Rooney served as chairman from 1994-2001. He received an honorary doctorate in 2002. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student majoring in business with a 3.0 GPA.

Six Disciplines Entrepreneurial Excellence Scholarship
Honoring their 20th year in business, the founders and associates of Solomon Software established the Solomon Software Entrepreneurial Excellence Scholarship, now known as the Six Disciplines Entrepreneurial Excellence Scholarship. This scholarship is to be awarded to a student who shows entrepreneurial excellence in business by starting, helping or assisting in the development of a business to help others become more productive.

Jesse Snavely Jr. Scholarship
The Jesse Snavely Jr. Scholarship was established by Dr. Snavely and is awarded annually to students who are either members of the Landisville Church of God General Conference, graduates of the Hempfield Area School District or to students majoring in business administration or an associated discipline. Dr. Snavely was a UF Trustee from 1957 to 1974 and received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in 1981.

Thomas Jewelers Scholarship
Mr. and Mrs. John (Jack) L. Thomas established the Thomas Jewelers Scholarship fund in 1997 to be awarded to a student majoring in marketing. Recipients must have graduated from a Hancock County high school and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

John ’61 and Linda Weaver Business Scholarship
John and Linda Weaver established this scholarship to assist students majoring in business at The University of Findlay. This scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time student who demonstrates leadership qualities and is enthusiastically pursuing a career in Marketing (e.g., sales, advertising or sales promotion) and carries between a 2.6 and 3.0 GPA.

Whirlpool Endowed SIFE Fund
Whirlpool Corporation established the Whirlpool Endowed SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) Fund. Earnings are used to support the SIFE team at The University of Findlay.

Family and friends of Walter L. Whithaus have established the Walter L. Whithaus Scholarship in his memory. Mr. Whithaus was a longtime Findlay businessman. This scholarship is awarded to a student from Hancock County majoring in business who has a 3.0 GPA.

Harold P. Wolfe College of Business Dean’s Excellence Endowment
This endowment has been established in conjunction with the 125th anniversary of The University of Findlay. This endowment shall be used by the dean of the College of Business to advance the academic priorities of the college. It shall provide the dean with the resources needed to achieve a higher level of excellence by funding activities over and above those funded by the college’s normal operating budget.

The Paula and John Wolper Hospitality Management Scholarship was established to honor the ideals that Dr. John and Mrs. Paula Wolper have brought to the Hospitality Management Program. This scholarship is awarded to a matriculated Hospitality Management student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and a penchant for the hospitality business.
