About Postal Services

Frequently Asked Questions

Business Reply Mail
Business Reply envelopes or postcards are supplied to correspondents, prospects, or customers as a means of expediting a reply and assuring the envelope or card is returned to the correct address. The University of Findlay holds a Business Reply permit. The permit holder guarantees payment of the appropriate First-Class postage, plus a handling charge per piece. Please notify Postal Services if you have a mailing where a large number of BRE's are to be returned to insure there is adequate postage in the account.

Business Reply envelopes can be ordered through Printing Services.

The USPS has strict format requirements for Business Reply mail. Contact Public Information at 419-434-4520 for the proper format before printing or reprinting Business Reply cards.

Business Reply Mail cannot be sent to any other country; USA only.

Chargebacks
Postal Services provides a monthly summary of postage charges to accounts in the Business Office.

Intercampus Mail

Intercampus mail is available to all departments, residence halls, and campus organizations. It is limited to official university business. Campus mail will not be accepted from private, commercial, or political organizations unless granted approval by the Director of Print and Postal Services.

Intercampus mail may be dropped off for distributions at the on campus mail slot and will be sorted regularly throughout the day.

The mail should be placed inside an intercampus envelope, which can be picked up at Postal or Print Services. Any excess accumulation of these envelopes should be returned to Postal Services for redistribution. New envelopes can be purchased at Print Services.

Stuffers

All campus box stuffing may be done for students, faculty, administration, and/or all employees. Stuffers are distributed after first class mail has been distributed.

Material to be stuffed should be delivered to the mail room by 4 p.m. on the day before it is to be stuffed.

The privacy and confidentiality of all properly addressed official and campus mail will be respected at all times.

Improperly or inadequately addressed mail will be delayed. After all other mail is distributed, the postal services staff will attempt to deliver improperly addressed pieces to the intended recipient or return them to the sender. Mail will be opened by authorized supervisory personnel only when no other means can be used to determine recipient.

When mail is returned to the postal services by the United States Postal Service with postage due, the postal services staff will attempt to identify the sender or recipient of the mail and charge the appropriate party the postage due amount.

The responsibility for the content of items sent through the mail lies with the sender of the item. The University does not assume responsibility for the content of items sent through the mail. If any received mail is offensive and/or harassing, please contact campus security at 419-434-4799.
