Frequently Asked Questions
Intramural activities are open to UF undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff.
Intramural activities are broken up into four seasons--Fall I, Fall II, Winter and Spring--flyers will be sent out to all student mailboxes notifying students when to sign-up for certain events. Rosters are normally located in Old Main, the AMU, the FRC, and the Cardio Center. All rosters must be turned into the Recreational Services Department (located in the Cardio Center).
Students should get involved in intramural sports for a number of reasons:
- Intramural sports provide an opportunity for social interaction and diversity among the student body.
- Intramural sports provide unique experiences for students to learn and develop life long skills through various activities and competitions.
- We have found over the last few years that students involved in intramural sports have enjoyed their time at UF more than students who don’t get involved with campus activities.
- Intramural activities keep students fit and are a good alternative to working out in the weight room.
27 intramural activities are offered throughout the academic year---these activities range from volleyball and basketball to ping-pong and billiards.
The cardio center is open to current students, graduate students, faculty/staff and board of trustee members, as well as faculty/staff spouses. A valid UF ID must be shown to gain entrance into the center.
The Cardio Center is open seven days a week during the academic year and closes during university holiday breaks. During the summer months, the center is open Monday-Friday for a limited number of hours. Hours for 2006-2007--September-April Monday-Thursday 6:30am-11:00pm Friday 6:30am-9:30pm Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm Sunday 1:00pm-11:00pm
