Frequently Asked Questions
Medical Emergencies
Q
: I have observed a person who I think needs medical attention. What should I do? Who do I call?
A
: When finding a person in immediate medical need, locate the nearest phone and call 911. Give the 911 operator all information that you have on the subject. After the 911 operator says that you may hang up, call Security at 419-434-4799. UF Security may be able to respond and assist before paramedic personnel arrive.
Parking Enforcement
Q
: I have received a parking ticket that I believe I should not have received. What can I do?
A
: A first violation ticket is a warning. The first ticket will not be billed to the student's account. Any ticket that is disputed can be appealed to the Director of Safety and Security. The issuing officer is not authorized to change or void parking violations.
Q
: Where do I park on campus?
A
: Parking is restricted to color coded spaces between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Yellow spaces are reserved for faculty / staff, green spaces for commuter, and white spaces for residents. After 5 p.m. students may park in any space except handicapped, fire lanes, or restricted areas.
Q
: If my vehicle is booted what do I do to have the boot removed?
A
:
Do not attempt
to operate your vehicle while the boot is in place. Damage will occur to your vehicle. Refer to boot removal procedures. Consult the
vehicle immobilization booting
page for instructions and payment procedures.
