computer recommendations

Technology Standards:

  1. Currently registered students are permitted to connect their own computer to the campus wide network, provided they have completed the necessary online application to create and activate their UFnet account. The connection will not be activated until the UFnet Account Application has been submitted and processed.

  2. For wired connectivity, the student’s computer must have an Ethernet network interface card (NIC) and network cable (Ethernet).

  3. For wireless connectivity, the student’s computer must have a wireless network card (802.11 b/g). Installation instructions are available at Technology Request Live (TRL) – Open Arena (technology support provided to all students at the beginning of the academic year). After TRL – Open Arena support is available at Technology Support Services, 425 Frazer St.; ext. 4357.

  4. Students taking online classes are required to have access to High-Speed Internet (no dial-up).

Personal Computer Software:

The University of Findlay is currently under a Microsoft Campus Agreement (MCA) participating in the Student Advantage program.  Through this, registered students can access specific Microsoft software products to be used on a personally owned computer or mobile device. Registered students are encouraged to learn more about the free software available via the Microsoft Student Advantage program.

You will be required to login using your UFnet account username and password.
