The University of Findlay encourages the efforts of faculty and staff to secure external funding for research and special projects that enhance teaching and learning. By obtaining grants to fund teaching, research, and other academic programs and projects, faculty and staff members enhance their own professional scholarship and service to our students.
The Office of Grants and Contracts Administration offers various services to faculty and staff as they develop grant proposals. Some services offered by the office include:
Searching for potential grants
Conducting research on funders
Supplying a summary of an RFP or grant guidelines
Leading project development team
Assessing project's competitive prospects
Assisting with further design of project idea
Providing critical feedback on draft materials developed by project team
Supplying boilerplate information about the university
Proofreading and editing proposal
Assisting in preparing federal forms
Assisting in budget preparation
Assisting in research and data gathering
Monitoring post-award processes
In order to determine the type of services necessary when developing a proposal, faculty and staff members are first asked to download and fill in the
Grant Concept Development Form
. This form takes the faculty/staff member through the steps necessary to define the project and seek specific assistance from the Office of Grants. This form assists in determining the scope of the project and allows the Office of Grants the opportunity to aid in creating a stronger proposal.
