UF Remote Authentication
To access the Article Databases remotely or off campus, simply type in your UF net account information on the Remote Authentication page which displays when you click on the title of a database on the Shafer Library website.

If you cannot log into your UF net account, you can access article databases by authenticating through OPAL or OhioLINK. OPAL authentication will take you to an alphabetical list of database titles; OhioLINK will provide databases by title and by subject lists. However, some databases are not accessible through OhioLINK authentication.

Authenticating Through OPAL
Go to the OPAL Remote Authentication page. You will see the OPAL logo in the upper left corner and the words, "OPAL Database Remote Authentication Page--Authenticating as Findlay patron." Proceed by typing in your LAST name and your 14-digit library barcode which is on the backside of your Oiler OneCard. Click on the title of the database you want to access.

Authenticating Through OhioLINK
Go to the OhioLINK list of databases. When you select the title of the database you want to access, the Institution Selection Form appears. Proceed by choosing your institution (University of Findlay) and then typing in your name and your 14-digit library barcode on the backside of your Oiler OneCard. Some databases will not be accessible through OhioLINK authentication.

Problems Connecting
If you are having problems authenticating or accessing databases through OhioLINK, review the suggestions on OhioLINK's Remote Authentication Help page. Finally, if you are still having problems with off-campus access, report your problem to Shafer Library by phone 419-434-4549 or email quintus@findlay.edu.  Please include the following information:

1. Exact URL of the page you were unable to access.
2. Complete text of any error message you received.
3. Information you receive when you click here.  This will show your IP address, the location that OhioLINK associates with the address, and your browser information.
