Registration Information:
The full conference fee for the 2008 Mazza Weekend Conference is $95
This fee entitles you to:
  • Attend six keynote sessions
  • Coffee / juice in the morning
  • Chances on many door prizes

Special Function Available:
A dinner with our guests author/artists has been planned for Friday evening, November 7, for conference members wishing to attend. The cost is $25.

Keynote Speakers Descriptions: 

Jane Wattenberg

This is the best selling San Francisco artist/author of the accordion-style board books Mrs. Mustard’s Baby Faces and Mrs. Mustard’s Beastly Babies.  Other books include Henny-Penny and Never Cry Woof!  A Dog-U Drama.

Tad Hills

This New York City artist is the illustrator of many popular books for children, including Duck, Duck, Goose, Duck and Goose, My Fuzzy Safari Babies: A Book to Touch & Feel, Knock, Knock!  Who’s There: My First Book of Knock Knock Jokes, My Fuzzy Friends, Tom Cringle: The Pirate and the Patriot and Waking Up Wendell.

Marla Frazee

This Southern California artist/author has created illustrations for a number of award-winning books for children, in addition to writing her own self-illustrated titles.  In 1995 she received a Notable Book selection from the American Library Association for That Kookoory! and in 2002 was awarded the Golden Kite Award for Mrs. Biddlebox.  She has also authored/illustrated Hush Little Baby,  Roller Coaster and How Does Santa Know?   

Beth Peck

This Wisconsin artist is the illustrator of many books for children, such as: The House on Maple Street, Time of the Bison, How Many Days To America?, A Thanksgiving Story, The Silver Whistle, The Day Before Christmas, Grandmother and the Runaway Shadow, The Nutcracker Ballet, Music for the End of Time and Witch Cat.

Alexander Stadler

This Philadelphia artist/author is also a textile designer having created work for amoung others BabyGap.  His children's books include Lila Bloom, What Willie Wore, Doggy Days, Charlene Loves to Make Noise and the popular Beverly Billingsly series.

Marc Tyler Nobleman

This New York City artist/author has written more than 70 books for children as well as being a caroonist whose works have appeared in more than 100 publications including The Wall Street Journal and Forbes. Some of his children's books are Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman, How to Do a Belly Flop, Detective Notebook: Ghost Hunting Handbook and Vocabulary Cartoon of the Day. 

Christy Hale

This Northern California artist has produced dozens of popular books for children, some of which are: Your're Not My REAL Mother!, Guess Again!, Elizabeth's School, Mama Elizabeth, A Safe Place Called Home, Billy and Emma, Paco and the Wtich and Sky Dancers.

Kevin Hawkes

This artist lives with his family on an island off the coast of Maine.  His art is often whimsical and quirky, which can be enjoyed in the over 40 books he has illustrated, some of which are:  My Little Sister Hugged an Ape, The Haunting of Hiram, Sidewalk Circus, Granite Baby, Me, All Alone, at the End of the World, Worry Week and Handel, Who Knew What He Liked.
