Spring 2012 Mobile Food Pantry Thank You Note
Dear Friends,
Thank
you for funding and hosting another successful food pantry on March 24.
With your help we were able to distribute 10,000 pounds of food to 187
families representing 787 individuals!
During 2011, Chopin Hall
was able to bring 20,000 additional pounds of food into Hancock County
through the mobile food pantries. This is greatly appreciated by many
who depend on Chopin Hall and the food pantries to help them have enough
food to eat. We look forward to having a successful year for 2012
also.
Please extend our thanks to the students and staff of the
University of Findlay. It was such a privilege to be able to work with
your volunteers who shared such compassion and kindness to one another
and our clients. It was great to see the friendship and respect between
the International students and the American students. Their energy and
enthusiasm to do a good job was contagious.
Thanks to the
University of Findlay for acting as a partner in supporting Chopin
Hall's mission to feed the hungry. We are truly blessed to have the
constant support of the University of Findlay, its faculty, and
students.

Fall 2011 Orientation Service Project
I
am writing this letter to thank you for the support that the University
of Findlay showed this past Saturday, August 20, at the Hancock County
SWMD Electronics Recycling Event. The success of this event was due in
large part to you and the student volunteers from the University of
Findlay. We were ready to go and the participants were lining up and
getting anxious so we started the event a little early, about 8:30 a.m.
The small staff we had on hand became overwhelmed and tired quickly.
When the bus from the University showed up, it was like the old time
movies when the Calvary came to save the day. 39 volunteers got off of
the bus and changed the entire outlook for the day. When I say
volunteers I mean some of the most polite, courteous, willing to jump in
and get it done, group of gentlemen. This event was a success because
of your actions and the community spirit of the students at the
University of Findlay.

I
want to thank you and your two groups of students who spent the day
helping Wood Lane Residential Services on August 20, 2011. It is
refreshing to know that the University of Findlay uses community service
as a foundation for its students. We appreciate being the recipient of
this generosity. The students who came in the morning reportedly worked
very hard weeding at a couple of our facilities. The Maintenance
Supervisor said they were eager to get to work, meticulous in what they
did, and were an overall good group of people. The students who came in
the afternoon played lawn games with individuals in one of our group
homes. It was a great distraction from the typical Saturday. Our staff
reports that the men living in the home enjoyed having the students
visit. Once again, thank you for extending your generosity to Wood Lane
Residential Services, Inc.

Thank
you so much for giving us the opportunity to participate in the
Freshman orientation service project. We have enjoyed meeting the
students and so appreciate their hard work. It was a pleasure having
them and they worked very hard. Without their help we would not have
had the time or energy to accomplish the tasks we gave them. They are a
great bunch of young adults and you should be very proud of your
students. We have included them in our prayer list and will continue to
pray for them throughout the school year. We look forward to having
this opportunity again next year. Please let these students know we
thank them for the hard work.

Thank
you so very much for sending those 13 wonderful students last Saturday
to Concordia. They accomplished so much in a relatively short time.
You are to be commended for this beneficial community outreach.
