The Access Portal is a new service that allows UF students to grant access to their education records through an online tool.  According to FERPA, parents/guardians must receive permission for this access before they can view certain records, including end-of-semester grades and financial aid information.  





For Students

Using the Access Portal is an easy way to share your education records with your parents, or others.  Here are the instructions:

  1. Logon to myFindlay
  2. Click on the "Access Portal" tab
  3. On the "Grant Access" page, click the link to "Grant someone access to your student information."
  4. Click the checkbox indicating your agreement and click "Submit"
  5. Follow instructions to grant permissions to certain categories of information

The parties to whom you grant access will receive an email with a user name and password.  They will be able to login and view your selected education records, including end-of-semester grades, tuition statements, financial aid awards, etc.  You are not required to grant access to your records, but the Access Portal makes it convenient if you wish to do so.

For Parents

Once your student grants access to share his/her education records with you, the following actions will take place:
  1. You will receive an email notifying you of this access.
  2. If you already have a myFindlay account, you can login as a guest. 
  3. Click on the Access Portal tab to access your student's information
  4. If you don't have a myFindlay account, you will receive an email with a user name.  For security reasons, your password will be sent in a second email.
  5. Your email will contain instructions on how to view your student's records in myFindlay.

Important!  Your student MUST grant access to some or all records before we can send a user name and password.
