Found Property
Found Property refers to any item that is found by an individual or (finder) which does not belong to the finder.
All
items found on The University of Findlay property should immediately
turned in at the Security Office located in Lovett Hall. The property
will be logged into an inventory system and will subsequently be held
for a minimum of sixty (60) days.
Lost Property
Lost property refers to any item which the owner has lost unwillingly or without their knowledge.
All
persons who have lost property on The University of Findlay Campus will
be directed to come to the Security Office in person to claim their
property. The owner will be required to show picture identification (UF
Oiler One Card, State id, or valid drivers license). Since the property will
be logged into and inventory system, the owner will be required to sign
for the property, showing that they have received the lost property.
Sixty (60) Day Holding Period
All
property found and turned into the Security Office will be held for a
minimum of sixty (60) days. Property not claimed by the owner, during
the holding period, will be purged and donated to predetermined
charitable or non-profit organizations. No employee or student will be
allowed to profit from lost and found items purged from the system after
the holding period.
- Clothing will be donated to the Salvation Army.
- Cell Phones will be donated to Hope House.
- Eye Glasses and Eye Glass Cases will be donated to Kiwanis Group
- Bicycles will be donated to Lutheran Social Services and Family Resource Center, who will repair the bicycles if necessary, and donate them to needy families.
