George M. Showers
George M. Showers held teaching, coaching and administrative positions in several Michigan schools and served as superintendent at Sumner, Vestaburg and Lakeview Community Schools.
He earned a master's degree in educational administration and a superintendent certificate from Central Michigan University. In 1996, he became senior pastor of both New Haven Church of God in Sumner and Seville Community Church of God, where he remains as senior pastor. He serves on the board of Winebrenner Theology Seminary and on the UF Board of Trustees.
He received the Vestaburg Community School's Distinguished Alumni Award and the Michigan Association of School Administrators' Distinguished Administrator Award. Showers and his wife, Alice, have two children and five grandchildren.
