Animal Science Options
Students benefit from hands-on classes at the Dr. C. Richard Beckett Animal Science Building
Animal science can prepare you for one or more of the many careers related to animal agriculture. Rewarding careers are available in business, industry, government and research. Our students also prepare for graduate school.
The University of Findlay's animal science degree has three different emphasis areas:
Students majoring in all three areas work hands-on
with a variety of food animals and equine at our state-of-the-art
facility starting in their first year.

Our animal science curriculum is designed to prepare students for jobs within the industry of agricultural business, such as:
- Production and service based businesses
- Herd management
- Implement sales and production
- Livestock feed sales and production
Our animal science/science curriculum is designed to prepare students for graduate school or jobs in research, animal nutrition, and government agencies. Some of these areas could include, but are not limited to:
- Research laboratories
- Food/meat processing companies
- Federal and State government agencies
- Private research firms
- Feed companies
