We are a top equestrian college!
Day-1 Hands on Experience
Students begin riding and caring for horses in their very first year with five days of assigned time at the barn each week.
Our James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex is home to our English equestrian program and boasts three top-notch indoor riding arenas, a jumping field with a new cross country course, an equine hospital and pharmacy, 155 stalls and wash racks with hot and cold water.
Our western equestrian program shares a 150-acre site with our Animal Science Complex. Three indoor arenas allow for all-season riding. The main arena is large enough for round pens, cutting, and trail classes. Take a virtual tour of both farms here.
Variety of Equine
With over 100 horses at our English farm and over 200 horses at our western farm, students have the opportunity to work with many different breeds.
Outside horses are brought in for our students to train one-on-one in addition to our university-owned horses.
