​Application Process

​The Master of Science in Applied Security and Analytics has a rolling admission process with classes starting each fall and spring semester.

Admissions Requirements

Admission to the Master of Science in Applied Security and Analytics (MSASA) degree requires the following:

  1. ​An earned bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) from an accredited university in computer science or a related discipline
  2. A minimum GPA of 3.0 or permission of the program director
  3. Work experience, preferably in a related field
  4. Course background – Final evaluation of transcripts at discretion of program director and faculty (Note bridge courses or undergraduate offerings will be available to those who do not have this background):

    • Programming – a solid background which includes instruction in data structures

    • Mathematics – college credit for mathematics at least at the level of college algebra

    • Databases – fundamental database knowledge and experience in using databases

    • Computer networking

    • Computer systems

    • Software engineering​

Students whose native language is not English and who have not graduated from American universities must meet the previously listed admissions conditions, plus:

  1. A verified TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) minimum total score of 79 and a verified international English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic score with a minimum overall band score of 7.0. Students not supplying a TOEFL or IELTS score are required to test in the Intensive English Language Program, and if necessary, complete coursework in English.
  2. Provide an affidavit of financial support (original), if not an American citizen or permanent resident.

All program admission materials and technical standards are available upon request from the program director or on the MAT program website.​​​
