​Athletic Endowed Scholarships​​​

​​All endowed scholarships are available to UF sophomores, juniors and seniors. A limited number of scholarships are available to incoming freshmen, and these scholarships are awarded as part of the regular freshman admissions process. Endowed scholarships range from $500 - $1,500 each year.


William W. Beall Golf Scholarship 

  • Awarded to full-time students who are members of the UF golf team  

  • One to two scholarships awarded annually

  • Established by the friends and family of William W. Beall 


George and Elaine Blackburn Memorial Scholarship 

  • Awarded to outstanding juniors or seniors who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and motivational qualities on the football team and as campus leaders 

  • One scholarship awarded annually* 

  • Established by family an​d friends of George ’36 and Elaine (Bright ’36) 


Blackburn Clauss Athletic Scholarship 

  • Awarded to female and male students participating on a varsity team other than football, basketball and volleyball 

  • Two scholarships awarded annually* 

  • Established through the generosity of Wilbur Clauss 


Richard Lee Couchot Football Scholarship 

  • Awarded to students on the football team who demonstrate financial need 

  • One scholarship awarded annually* 

  • Established through the generosity of Richard Lee Couchot ’63  


Richard “Dick” Crawfis Scholarship 

  • Awarded to varsity athletes who have financial need 

  • One scholarship awarded annually* 

  • Established by Jo Ann Crawfis Baker in memory of her late husband, Dick 


Nancy Erme '53 Scholarship 

  • Awarded to incoming freshmen who express interest in competing for and participating in cheerleading 

  • One scholarship awarded annually* 


Philip D. Gardner Football Scholarship 

  • Awarded to incoming freshmen participating in football 

  • Three to four scholarships awarded annually* 

  • Established through the generosity of Philip D. Gardner


Jeffire Wrestling Scholarship 

  • Awarded to students participating on the wrestling team 

  • One scholarship awarded annually* 

  • Established by the family and friends of Thomas and Josie Jeffire 


James C. and Bonnie L. Koehler Scholarship 

  • Awarded to graduates of Hancock County schools who are athletically eligible players on the football, men’s or women’s basketball, baseball or softball teams 

  • One to two scholarships awarded annually* 


Byron E. “By” Morgan Jr. Scholarship 

  • Awarded to full-time students participating in the University’s football program who hold a 2.5 GPA or better 

  • One scholarship awarded annually* 

  • Established by the family and friends of By Morgan in recognition of his achievements as a head football coach and his dedication to then-Findlay College 


Garver Oxley Memorial Scholarship 

  • Awarded to students participating on the football team. Preference is given to Ohio residents from Hancock or Sandusky counties 

  • One to two scholarships awarded annually* 

  • Established by donations in memory of Garver Oxley ’41 for his many years of support to UF 


Ann and L. Jack Ruscilli Football Scholarship 

  • Awarded to students participating in football who are from Franklin or neighboring counties and have at least a 2.5 GPA 

  • One to two scholarships awarded annually* 

  • Established by Ann (Colburn ’65) and Jack ’66 Ruscilli  


Jeffrey R. Seever ’76 Scholarship 

  • Awarded members of the UF baseball team who hold a 3.0 GPA or better 

  • One scholarship awarded annually* 

  • Established by Jeff Seever in gratitude for the excellent education he received while at Findlay and the extracurricular experiences he enjoyed 


Dr. Charles H. Spragg Golf Scholarship 

  • Awarded to a member of the golf team annually* 

  • Established by Charles H. Spragg, D.D.S. 


Dick Strahm Scholarship 

  • Awarded to education majors participating in any varsity sport who do not receive athletic scholarship aid, have a 3.0 GPA or better and demonstrate need* 

  • Established by the friends and family of Dick “Coach” Strahm to honor his years of dedicated service as both teacher and the head football coach 


The University of Findlay Athletic Department Golf Program Scholarship 

  • Awarded to a member of the golf team annually* 

  • Established with the proceeds of the 1990 UF Golf Outing 


Varsity “F” Endowment 

  • Awarded to a male and a female athlete participating in a varsity sport who have earned a varsity letter and maintain a 3.0 GPA or better 

  • Two scholarships awarded annually* 

  • Established with proceeds from the Varsity “F” Golf Outing (1991-present)
