An integral part of your education is the opportunity to gain as much experience as possible. You will participate in at least one industry internship. The internship possibilities are numerous and can vary from something close to home or at a world class resort. Many times internships can turn into an offer for a full time career after graduation.
You have the option to help develop where you would like to complete your internship experience. Hilton Head, South Carolina; Orlando, Florida along with Hawaii are just a few of the destinations that students have completed their internships.
Several of the companies students have worked with include:
- Disney World
- Westin Hotels and Resorts
- Marriott Hotels and Resorts
- TGI Fridays
- Outback Steakhouse
- Sodexo Food Services
- Cattawba Island Country Club
- Bob Evans Restaurants
Johonna interned at a Westin Resort
in Hilton Head, S.C., for one summer and participated in sales blitz
spring break trips with the program. During these trips, student groups
travel to various locations to promote their skills and learn onsite
about hospitality management jobs. She first traveled to The Westin
Stonebriar Resort in Frisco, Texas, during her junior year and then
again her senior year. After her second trip, she left with a job
contract in hand. “I almost didn’t go back the second time,” Rowe
reflected, “If I hadn’t gone, I don’t know where I’d be.”
