Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP)
The College of Business meets the highest standards of business education established by ACBSP through learning outcomes, quality and continuous improvement.
As corporate partners, both businesses and MBA students are provided with advantages such as tuition savings, free books and other special event-related benefits.
The University of Findlay College of Business Dana Chair/Scholar Program provides an opportunity for business students to connect to higher education with the real world of business.
A 1991 donation from the Dana Corporation established the Dana Chair to utilize the ”Executive-in-Residence” concept on campus. The program officially started in 1995 with the original intent that each academic year’s Dana Chair would provide leadership in bonding education and business.
The Dana Chair serves as a team builder and provides leadership in the undergraduate business program. Dana Scholars are chosen by College of Business faculty and, as such, are recognized as outstanding students in the College of Business for their academic and leadership skills.
Delta Mu Delta
Delta Mu Delta is the exclusive business honor society recognized by the ACBSP that encourages academic excellence of students at qualifying colleges and universities to create a DMD community that fosters the well-being of its individual members and the business community through life-time membership.
ENACTUS (Formerly S.I.F.E.)
ENACTUS is a program which allows college students from around the world to make and incorporate business ideas that can range from recycling programs and education on their college campus to teaching people to farm more productively and helping them sell their crops. The goal of SIFE is to help others to make an economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable impact through the use of business tools and techniques.
Students will have regular access to and networking opportunities with internationally recognized leaders, high-level business executives and entrepreneurs.
Many successful alumni are actively involved with the University and use their connections to offer opportunities for job shadowing, internships and in some cases, employment opportunities.
Oiler Enterprises is
the essence of experiential learning! The mission of Oiler Enterprises is to
provide students with opportunities to work in and run their own business,
enabling students to gain valuable life and business skills, enhancing their
academic experience, and preparing them for productive careers. Any student at
the university is welcome to get involved in some manner, whether it as an
employee, manager or developer of a business. Students need not be in the
College of Business to take advantage of this opportunity. Students interested
in developing a business are encouraged to write a business plan and present
the idea to the Oiler Enterprises Board for approval.
Rotaract clubs are part of a global
effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. This effort
starts at the community level but knows no limits in its outreach. Rotaractors
have access to the many resources of Rotary International (RI) and The Rotary Foundation. Rotary International provides the administrative support that helps
Rotaract clubs thrive.
College of business courses have incorporated SAP (Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing) training into their undergraduate courses – and increasing graduates’ marketability at the same time.
SAP is used in more than 50 countries worldwide by companies such as Marathon, Cooper Tire and Rubber Co., Coca-Cola Co., Procter and Gamble, Owens Corning, First Solar and a majority of Fortune 500 companies. Training employees in the enterprise resource planning software can cost thousands of dollars, but hiring an employee who already knows the basics of SAP can cut down training time dramatically.
Society for Human Resource Management, or SHRM, is the world's largest
association dedicated to the human resource profession. SHRM has over 575
affiliated chapters within 140 countries globally. Students involved in SHRM at
The University of Findlay engage in activities that will be directly related to
their future careers. Students gain experiential knowledge and networking
with seasoned professionals by attending local SHRM chapter meetings.
Six Sigma Green Belt
Offered as part of a master's class (MBA 685), Six Sigma Green Belt Certification teaches a statistical approach to business problem solving, which can be used to solve problems like inefficiency in the manufacturing industry.
The coursework and preparation for the certification helps students develop and advance their statistic skills and apply them to practical business and manufacturing settings.
Study Abroad Opportunities
Students can expand their cultural experiences and learn global business practices by studying in places such as India and Japan.
