Student Advisory Board

Inspire confidence, spark creativity, and enhance networking skills

The College of Business Student Advisory Board is made up of eight current students (two from each class) who were suggested by the College of Business Student-faculty and selected by the Dean. It is a way for students to have more of a voice in their educational experiences. The Student Advisory Board members are advocates for students and serve as a sounding board for the Dean on topics that directly impact students. They are also given the opportunity to implement new initiatives and take leadership roles on various projects.

The mission of the Student Advisory Board is to build the confidence of young business professionals by providing firsthand leadership, networking, and professional development experiences.

Goals of the Student Advisory Board:

  • Inspire confidence
  • Spark creativity and innovation
  • Enhance networking and communication skills
  • Improve comfort level when engaging with professionals

Student Advisory Board

My name is Lillian Kamphaus, and I am a Senior at the University of Findlay majoring in Business Management, Finance, and Operations & Logistics. I am from Leipsic, Ohio which is only about 30 minutes from Findlay, so I get the balance of campus life and family time which I love. In my past four years at Findlay, I have held multiple leadership positions for the Empowerment of Business Oriented Women organization, Investments club, the Take Note choir organization, and Newman club. These opportunities paired with the exceptional classroom experiences at the University of Findlay, have prepared me to enter the workforce and push for positive change.

I am honored to have been selected as a member of the College of Business Student Advisory Board and hope to help bridge the gap between ambitious students and our dedicated College of Business Advisory Board. My goal is for every student to have the experiential leadership opportunities that I have had and utilize these opportunities to the best of their abilities. These are the experiences that employers look for and every Findlay student should feel prepared to meet this growing need for knowledgeable leaders. I look forward to serving the University of Findlay's College of Business as a member of the Student Advisory Board this year.

My name is Michael Malone, I am from Edgewater Maryland. I am a Sophomore Marketing Major here at the University of Findlay. I am a member of Findlay's Football team and Findlay's College of Business Student Advisory Board.

I decided to become a member of the College of Business Student Advisory Board to help others as well as motivate and inspire students to create a change. I also feel this is a great opportunity for networking and building real-world experiences of leadership.

Hi! my name is Kaylee Alarcon, and I’m from Perrysburg, Ohio. I am a freshman and outside the Student Advisory Board for the College of Business, I am on the University’s lacrosse team, a part of the American Chemical Society, Empowerment of Business Oriented Women, and the Sports and Event Business Experience Club.

I decided to join Student Advisory Board because I think this is an amazing opportunity to network more and get more involved with our student body. I think it’s fair to say our group’s passion is to help the college of business reach its full potential because the college is only as good as its students are. I am so excited to help be the voice of business majors so we can get the absolute most from our four years at Findlay and always keep improving.

I felt that it would be a great opportunity to really be a voice for students in the college of business as well as it really being an opportunity for more networking with others and creating those connections that will last a long time and be valuable to have as well. Also, the opportunities that this experience will provide me with is something that is and will be like any other, especially looking towards the future.

My name is Sarah Scarpill and I am from Warrington, Pennsylvania. I am a freshman here at the University of Findlay, and I am a part of the women's golf team. I am also part of the Empowerment of Business Oriented Women Club as well as the Sport and Event Club.

I decided I wanted to be on the Student Advisory Board because I think it is important that all students have their voices heard. To me it makes sense that students are involved in certain decision making because these decisions directly affect us. I feel as though I can bring a lot to the table and I can help make all students at the university have a meaningful and exciting experience during their time here.
