Prospective International Applicants

Findlay offers an entry-level doctor of physical therapy (DPT) degree; this degree is considered the first professional degree in physical therapy. The first step in the process of applying to our institution is to apply to the University and have your credentials reviewed. If offered admission to the University of Findlay you will still be required to complete any admission prerequisites and general education requirements; this may result in the pursuit of a second bachelor’s degree.

Prior to submitting the application for admission to the Physical Therapy Program you must complete all University requirements and program prerequisites.

Q.  What type of program of study do you offer? Is it a clinical or research based?
Our program(s) in physical therapy education are entry-level degrees. The degree is neither clinical, nor research in focus. There are no areas of focus as the program offers a first professional degree to practice physical therapy.

Q. Duration of your course?
The Traditional DPT program and the Weekend PTA to DPT Bridge Program are three years; however, you must have graduated from an accredited PTA program and possess a bachelor's degree to enroll into the Weekend PTA to DPT Bridge Program.

Q. Fees structure?

Q. What are prerequisites of your course?
All the prerequisites are specifically identified on the Traditional DPT Program page.

Q. Eligibility requirement?
Potential Traditional DPT and Weekend PTA to DPT Bridge Program students should review the information on the pages under admissions information. International applicants must first apply to University of Findlay to have their credential evaluations completed.

Q. Any scholarships or assistantships?
There are no formal scholarships or assistantships offered for international applicants; however, students may contact the office of international admissions for more information.

Q. GRE/TOEFL score?          
The GRE is required for admission into the professional program. Please have the scores reported to UF by use of the school code 1223.
  • The minimal TOEFL score is 550.
  • The TOEFL-iBT score must be an 89 total, with at least the following: 
    • 26-speaking,
    • 24-writing,
    • 21-reading, and 
    • 18-listening.
Q. Is work experience required?
The Weekend PTA to DPT Bridge Program requires students applying to have a minimum of one year work experience as a PTA. While in the Weekend PTA to DPT Bridge Program, students must work an average of 80 hours per month as a PTA.
