The Oilers Golf Classic is a driving force to raise funds for Oilers athletics. Each year a full field of golfers have participated in a day-long event that allows for fan/coach interactions, information sharing about the Oilers, and golf at the beautiful Findlay Country Club.
The Oilers Golf Classic was started in 1999 by former UF vice president for business affairs, Marty Terry, who had the vision and determination to make Oilers Athletics what it is today and saw an opportunity to provide interaction and entertainment to Oilers fans and those who support.
The Oilers Golf Classic is an exceptional day with special people making it a wonderful experience by all. Participants arrive and are immediately greeted by the UF athletic department family. In addition to the golf itself (scramble format with three flights based on handicaps), the day is filled with food, beverage and great skill games where participants can earn points towards many great items from a special “pro shop” tent. When the golf is completed everyone comes together for a social event and awards ceremony where flight winners, proximity winners and hole prize winners are recognized. Participants walk away with multiple gifts and hopefully wonderful memories of good golf and great interaction with the UF athletic department staff.
Those wishing to register for the event or view sponsorship opportunities can do so by visiting Oilers Athletics.
