About Dr. Katherine Fell

Dr-Fell-headshot.jpgDr. Katherine Rowe Fell has served as the president of the University of Findlay since July 2010.  In her years as its president, the University has seen strong enrollment, added several graduate and undergraduate programs and completed successful fundraising campaigns. It continues to carry out the mission of preparing students for meaningful lives and productive careers.

Growing up in the south, home of such literary greats as William Faulkner and Flannery O'Connor, it's not surprising that Katherine's choice of educational pursuits reflected a love of education and literature.  She earned her bachelor of science in education from Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, Arkansas, and a master of arts in English from Louisiana Technical University in Ruston, Louisiana.  After completing her Ph.D. in English at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, Dr. Fell began her career in higher education as an English professor at Centenary College, Shreveport, Louisiana.

In 1998, Dr. Fell successfully made the transition to director of foundation and corporate relations at Centenary, leading the development team in the public phase of a comprehensive fundraising campaign.  She moved to director of development and on to vice president for advancement before accepting the position of president at the University of Findlay.

Katherine Fell has earned the reputation as an influential leader in the field of higher education, particularly among private colleges and universities.  She serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) as well as the executive committee of the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges.  In 2014, the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio recognized her as one of Ohio's Most Powerful Women and as a Woman of Influence.

She and her husband, Roger, are the parents of six children.  The most recent addition to the Fell family is Scout, a Goldendoodle, with just a hint of Oiler orange coloring!
