We are excited for this semester's Spring Job Fair,
which is free and open to all UF students and alumni. In addition to the
open fair (the traditional job fair we're all familiar with), we are
also offering three professional development workshops--Job Fair
Prep, Resume Refresher, and Interviewing--coinciding with the event.
Each of these workshops will be facilitated by a CCPD staff member.
Students & Alumni
Student pre-registration is highly encouraged for the workshops; it is not necessary to register for the open fair, you will check in to the event upon arrival.
If you are attending the open fair, we encourage you to:
- Research attending companies of interest (a list of these employers will be sent closer to the event). Develop a list of questions you'd like to ask and prepare your elevator pitch. (Not sure what we're talking about? Sign up for the Job Fair Prep workshop being held from 8 AM to 8:45 AM before the Open Fair.)
- Dress professionally. If you don't have professional attire, check out our Career Closet to rent an ensemble for $5.
- Bring multiple copies of your resume. (Need a refresher? Sign up for the Resume Refresher workshop being held from 9 AM to 9:45 AM at the start of the Open Fair.)
- Follow up with employers you spoke to by sending an email or hand-written note.
The photo booth is a great opportunity to have a professional headshot taken, free of charge. The headshot can come in handy for your LinkedIn profile or any other professional occasion for which you need a headshot. No need to sign up, just dress up and show up!
Faculty
We appreciate your support to ensure success of our job fairs. These events have a direct impact on our ability to follow through on UF's mission of equipping students for meaningful lives and productive careers. As such, if at all possible, we encourage you to require your students to attend the job fair. Whether they are freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students, they can all find value in attending this event. You are of course also invited to attend the event to meet the employers and network.
If you would like to require your students to attend the open fair or workshops, let us know and we'll provide you with an attendance list after the event.
Employers
If you're an employer interested in attending the event, please register here. If you have already registered, detailed event information has been (or will be) emailed to you from Katrina Shull. Should you have questions, feel free to reach out to her at either [email protected] or by calling her direct line, 419-434-4665.
