Position Description
Title: Accounts Payable Intern
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Rowmark proudly manufactures, markets, and distributes a wide array of innovative and quality products for our customers primarily in the awards, recognition, and signage markets. Our extensive product line of sheet materials are distributed in over 80 countries around the world.
As an Accounting Intern you will support and assist with the company’s accounting control and reporting, most specifically in the areas of Accounts Payable (A/P). Help process invoices for timely payment. Support and assist with month end processing, journal entry preparation, and financial statement reporting. May also assist with special projects, inventory valuation, standard costing, strategic planning, and problem resolution.
Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Process customer payments, remittance application, and problem resolution.
• Process and reconcile customer credit card payment, collection, and application.
• Balance daily deposits and credit card payments.
• Reconcile checks on our ERP system, run reports to show outstanding check listings.
• Support and assist with a variety of report development and updates.
• Match receivers with invoices; review for accuracy in pricing and quantity received against quantity billed.
• Key invoices to prepare for weekly check cycle in relation to vendor terms.
• File paid invoices upon completion of weekly check cycle.
• Assist in month-end closing of accounting records and related reports.
• Assist with bank account reconciliation on a monthly basis.
• Assist with the maintenance of the fixed asset listing and related depreciation reports.
• Review and distribution of monthly department budgets.
• Assist with preparation of sales & use, and other miscellaneous tax filings.
• Complete all other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Ability to operate computer hardware/software relative to the position.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good planning, organization, and time management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Field of study should be a degree related to Accounting or College of Business.
• In senior year of study with the intention to be hired full time upon graduation.
• The ability to work 15-25 hours per week.
