As a member of the Pre-Vet Club at The University of Findlay, you will have the opportunity to meet many new friends, get involved with on-campus activities and serve as a volunteer throughout the Findlay area.
Some on-campus activities the Pre-Vet Club sponsors are the Fall Rodeo in October, and Powder-Puff Football in the Spring. The club also participates in The University's Homecoming activities. Pre-vet students have also participated in the "Cans Across America" Campaign as schools across the United States collect cans of food for charity. You are encouraged as a PVET UF student to get involved! As a member of The University of Findlay's Pre-Vet Club, students can volunteer for the Hancock County Humane Society at their weekly bingo games or as a companion for the animals up for adoption. Also, they can learn more about birds of prey as a volunteer in the Raptor Rehab Program or help with the yearly "Ribbit on the River", the Humane Society's annual fund-raising event.
The Pre-Vet Club takes several field trips each year such as attending the yearly Midwest Veterinary Conference in Columbus, Ohio. They attend the Pre-Veterinary Conference held during the convention. As a member of the PVET Club, students also have the opportunity to listen to many speakers from outside the University Community including practicing veterinarians, specialists and veterinary school representatives.
Speakers from The Ohio State University, Purdue University, Michigan State University and Ross University have spoken to the club members. St. George's Veterinary School and Ross University Veterinary School, both in the Caribbean, have also given presentations. In the past, representatives from The Ohio State University Veterinary Public Health Program and the United States Army Veterinary Corps have also visited.
