    Dr. Cyndy Goodwin, O.T.D., M.S., OTR/L has practiced in occupational therapy education for the last 30 years. She joined the faculty in July of 2002 as an assistant professor. Her previous position was at Lourdes College in Sylvania, Ohio, serving as the director of their occupational therapy assistant program since 1984. Her clinical practice includes experience in the areas of acute care, rehabilitation, and home health with adults and geriatrics. She received her clinical doctorate in occupational therapy from Chatham University in 2007. She also has a bachelors and advanced masters degree in occupational therapy from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan. 

    Professional Activity
    Dr. Goodwin has served in numerous capacities in the district and state OT associations over the last 25 years and currently serve as an Appeals Board Member for the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education. She has received numerous awards including the Award of Merit and Continuing Education awards from the State of Ohio, distinguished Alumna of the Year from the Occupational Therapy Program at Eastern Michigan and Mentor Award from the Department of Occupational Therapy at the Medical College of Ohio as well as a number of service awards from AOTA. Cyndy has presented at a number of state and local occupational therapy association conferences over the years as well as to a variety of community groups. She currently serves as President of the Hancock County Coordinating Council.

    Research Interests
    Dr. Goodwin's research interests include topics dealing with relationships between occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants; the effects of occupation on cognition in clients with Down's syndrome; and eHealth - the use of health information on the Internet, especially for underserved populations.
