The University of Findlay (UF) has utilized the same Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) since 1985. This past academic year, UF reviewed 4 major higher education ERP products provided by the following vendors - Jenzabar, Unit4, Campus Management and Workday. Fulfillment of the following new ERP requirements led UF to partner with Workday:
Unified Data Structure
Self-reporting Capability for Functional Areas
Reduce Manual Processes
Reduce Shadow IT – Ancillary Applications & Excel Spreadsheet reliance Reduce Integrations
Reduce Costs
User-friendly interfaces, e.g. degree audit, degree planning, student bills, etc.
Student-centric technology
Modern security structure
A Cloud-based Solution
Workday emerged as the preferred ERP partner for UF after our review. A final vote by the ERP Selection Committee (composed of faculty, staff and students) was unanimous in its selection of Workday. Overall, Workday was viewed as the best partner (and software product) that would assist UF in moving forward with its business processes; reporting needs; improved data integrity/analytics; and most importantly, providing parents and students with a modern, user-friendly method to receive/send/communicate significant information to the University of Findlay. Our Board of Trustees provided a vote of support for the selection of Workday at its June 22, 2017 Meeting.
Survey QUOTE: “Workday allows us to move away from past business processes and 1980s based technology. Implementation of Workday would be transformational on a systemic level for UF”.
