​​Institutional Research and Assessment

​The Institutional Research and Assessment​ Team at the University of Findlay provides data resources to effectively contribute to institution-level decision-making, planning, and policy formation that contributes to the cultivation of “the potential within each student through academic excellence, transformative experiences and a supportive community that is grounded in Christian faith.” The team oversees and guides the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to benefit the UF campus and beyond. The provision of exemplary, user-centered service will contribute to the achievement of our goal to nurture a community of data-informed consumers.

Priority Statement

The goal of the IR & A​​ Team is to accurately and efficiently meet the data and information needs of our University of Findlay campus community. The realities of compliance deadlines, demands on staffing capacity, competition for limited resources, time-sensitive or intensive projects, and appropriate workload distribution all require that requests must be prioritized. Critical, top-level priority will always be accorded to the support of institutional-level decision-making in order to maximize impact. Additionally, the following framework provides insight into our prioritization strategy:

1. Mandated external agency reporting that impacts university funding and institutional accreditation (e.g. IPEDS, NSCL, HLC, other governmental compliance agencies).​
   
2. Requests from the president’s office or from members of the president’s cabinet.
3. Requests from academic affairs, including deans and department chairs and accreditation reviews. 
4. Time-sensitive projects pertaining to institutional level decision making, including enrollment, strategic plan updates, university-wide surveys, grant application, support of discipline-specific accreditation, persistence rates, etc.
5. External reporting that impacts marketing and institutional image (e.g. U.S News & World Report, College Board, Peterson’s)
6. High-impact immediate project requests related to marketing, governmental relations, or advancement that may impact donor contributions.
7. Lower-impact projects and ad hoc requests from campus community members that pertain to individual endeavors (e.g. emails for a survey).
