How do I participate?
First, you will need to submit the intent to participate form to your high school by April 1st. Students who do not submit the intent to participate form on time to their high school are not guaranteed participation in College Credit Plus.

Next, you will need to complete an online application to the University of Findlay. Make sure to complete the College Credit Plus application! Have your school counselor send UF a copy of your transcript ([email protected]) and submit any needed test scores and/or forms. If you need to take the Accuplacer or placement tests you can schedule to do so through the CCP advisor.

Finally, sit down with your school counselor to discuss which courses you may need for graduation. If you are taking classes at your high school, you will work with your school counselor to ensure registration. If you are taking classes at UF or online, you should reach out to your campus advisor to schedule an orientation session before registering. You should work with both your high school counselor and your CCP advisor if you are taking classes both at the high school and at UF/online.
What if I am a non-public or homeschool student?
If you are a non-public or homeschool student, you will follow the same application process as public students. However, non-public or homeschool students must be admitted by April 1st if they intend to apply for state funding. More information about the state funding application can be found here. Once you have received your funding letter, you must forward a copy to Admissions. If you take additional credits outside of the amount funded, you will receive a bill from the university.
What classes can I take?
Students taking classes at their high school will be provided a list of options available at their high school through their school counselor. Students interested in taking classes at UF or online can access the course schedule online. Please be advised that all CCP students must complete 15 credit hours of Level I coursework first before taking any upper level classes.
What should I do if I am having difficulty with an instructor?
You should reach out to your instructor first through email or by attending office hours. Share your concern with the instructor in a polite and professional manner. If you the concern is one that you cannot speak directly to the instructor about, then contact the chair of the department of that instructor. You can locate the name of the chair of each department by going to www.findlay.edu and searching for the department name. If you need additional assistance in finding the contact information for the chair of the department, you can reach out to Rebecca Hillman ([email protected]), and she will provide you with the email and/or office number of the chair. Please note that it is your responsibility (not your parents’/guardians’) to initiate the contact.
What happens if I fail a class?
If you fail a class, you will receive an F on your UF transcript, as well as your high school transcript. Some school districts may require you to reimburse them for the course. Depending on your overall CCP GPA, you may be placed on CCP Probation.
What happens if I want to withdraw from a class?
You have 14 calendar days from the start of the semester to decide whether or not you would like to stay enrolled in the class. On the 15th calendar day, the school district may require you to reimburse them for the cost of the course and a “W” will appear on your UF transcript. Students who withdraw from 2 or more courses in one semester, will be placed on CCP Probation..

Regardless of when you decide to withdraw from a class, you should discuss this with your school counselor. Once you have decided to withdraw, you must contact your CCP advisor in writing to request to be withdrawn.
How do I get my credits transferred?
You will need to request a transcript to be sent to your college or university online. If you are attending UF after high school, you do not need to complete this step but please request transcripts to be sent to UF from other colleges or universities you have attended. A helpful tip when taking CCP classes: keep all of your syllabi! Many times, colleges will ask to see these in order to determine if they’ll accept your credits.

What is College Credit Plus?
College Credit Plus is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that allows students, grades 7-12, the opportunity to earn high school and college credit at the same time. Courses can be taken on UF’s campus, online, or a partnering high school campus.
Who pays for College Credit Plus tuition and textbooks?
All college course tuition, fees, and textbooks will be covered by the state of Ohio’s school foundation funds. Nonpublic school and homeschooled students must apply for funding each school year through an OH|ID account. Those students who go over their allotted credits may choose to pay for additional credits out of pocket.

My student is attending a nonpublic school or is homeschooled. Can they participate in College Credit Plus?
Absolutely! Nonpublic or homeschooled students will need to follow specific guidelines in order to receiving funding from the state. For more information, please visit the state’s website.

What and how many classes can a student take through College Credit Plus?
Students must complete 15 credits of Level I (link to document) courses first before taking any other courses. After 15 credits of Level I courses have been earned, students may take any other course at UF as long as they have met the prerequisites of the course. Non-allowable courses include:
  • Private applied courses with one-on-one instruction
  • Courses with high fees
  • Study abroad course
  • Physical education courses
  • Pass/Fail graded courses
  • Remedial courses or sectarian/religions courses
School counselors should work with students to determine the number of courses allowed each year. Students can enroll in up to 30 credits per year, however, this does include their middle school/high school coursework.
Will College Credit Plus coursework through the University of Findlay transfer to other colleges or universities?
Credits earned while enrolled in UF’s College Credit Plus program may transfer to other colleges or universities. It is best to work with the college or university your student is planning on enrolling in after high school to determine how the coursework will transfer. You can also create a free account on Transferology (www.transferology.com) to look up possible transfer options. Students must request a transcript online to be sent to their postsecondary institution.

How can my school offer College Credit Plus classes through UF?
For Tearchers
High school teachers' credentials are reviewed on a rolling basis by the Office of the VPAA in consultation with the Associate Vice President for Learning and Innovation. When there is a question about credentialing, the corresponding Faculty Liaison (FL) is asked to contribute to the review. Continued participation as a Concurrent Enrollment Instructor (CEI) is dependent upon approval and meeting the instructor responsibilities outlined below.
  • Teacher Registration Form (one for each teacher)
  • Resume for each teacher
  • Transcripts (official or unofficial) for teachers new to the program
A master's degree in the content area or a master's degree in education which includes the equivalent of 18 semester hours of advanced training in the relevant subject (i.e. content-specific graduate courses, workshops, seminars and curriculum development). Relevant tested experience may also be considered as part of the credentialing process.
  • One year experience teaching the course at the high school level.
  • Recommendation of the district superintendent and building principal.
  • Recommendation of the UF faculty based on successful completion of the summer workshop.
What professional development do instructors receive?
Prospective instructors attend new instructor training prior to teaching the UF course. If they choose, they may enroll for graduate credit at no cost and receive graduate credit for successfully completing the workshop. Upon successful completion of initial training, instructors return to campus each summer for an annual re-training day. In addition, professional development support is provided throughout the year by the Faculty Liaisons who mentor the instructors.​
What textbooks are used?
Textbooks used in the CCP courses must be approved by the faculty liaison to ensure that the texts are appropriate for the course and align with course learning outcomes.
What are the syllabus requirements?
All UF courses, both on-campus and CCP, use the standard syllabus template that includes all elements required by the University. While instructors have the academic freedom to modify some elements, the course catalog description and learning outcomes are always included.

Faculty liaisons review CCP syllabi at the start of each semester, making sure these syllabi have these elements as well as the grading scale for the course, agreed upon grading distribution, and assessments.
Do instructors have access to online tools?
​CCP teachers may need to use their Findlay email accounts to utilize web-based course management functions and to receive Findlay correspondence. Schools or their districts agree to provide internet access for teachers to UF's Learning Management System​.
Is there a class size limit?
​​Enrollment in the CCP courses will adhere to caps for the course on-campus. High school classes must agree to respect the class size limits for those classes in which students are enrolled for UF credit even if not all students in the class are taking the course for CCP credit. If m​ore than the permitted number of eligible students desire to enroll in the class, a diagnostic test may be administered to assist schools in selecting the students for the class or a second section may be opened. These sections should be evenly balanced.
What are the student application process and qualifications?
Students in grades 10-12 must have at least a 2.5 GPA and either a 250 on the Reading Next-Generation Accuplacer test or a 20 composite score on the ACT. Students with a 3.0 GPA or higher are not required to submit a test score unless needed for math or science placement.

Students in grades 7-9 must have at least a 3.0 GPA and either a 250 on the Next-Generation Reading Comprehension Accuplacer test or a 20 composite on the ACT.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. For best course registration results, it is recommended that students complete their application for summer by April 1, fall by June 1, and spring by December 1.

Students must have a completed Intent to Participate form on file at their home school district.

Students will need to complete the online application for College Credit Plus and have their school submit their transcript (high school students) or most recent report card (middle school students), along with any required test scores, their signed permission slip and course selection sheet to complete their application.

Additional test scores may be needed to register for specific courses in math or science.
Does that student receive a college transcript for the class and will classes transfer to another university?
Upon successful completion of a course, each student may request a transcript from The University of Findlay. Students are graded using the University of Findlay’s grading scale for the course. The University is an accredited institution, which means that credits earned will likely transfer seamlessly to another Ohio institution. However, UF recommends that students contact the registrar’s office of prospective colleges prior to enrolling in UF CCP courses to inquire about credit transfer or visit the Transferology website. Will student families receive a bill?
Students may receive a bill if they attend a non-public school and do not receive state funding. Students who exceed the state maximum of 30 credit hours per year of CCP coursework will receive a bill for additional hours​​ taken.​
How are grades determined?
Students are graded using the University of Findlay’s grading scale for the course.​
