Diagnostic Services Programs Financial Aid Structure

The University offers a variety of institutional financial aid in the form of scholarships and grants. Because of the unique structure of the Nuclear Medicine, Sonography and Echocardiography and degree-granting programs, please refer to the chart below and ​read the information included on this page to ensure you are familiar with the financial aid available for these programs.

Financial Aid Options For Certificate-Only Students in the Nuclear Medicine, Sonography, or Echocardiography Programs

​​The Nuclear Medicine Certificate, Sonography Certificate and Echocardiography programs are one-year programs that include one semester of coursework on UF's campus (didactic term), followed by two semesters of clinicals that take place at off-site locations.  Students enrolled in the one-year certificate programs can either be enrolled at UF or be a visiting (transient) student from a partner institution.


Merit Scholarship Availability for Certificate-Seeking Students

UF Students: UF students seeking a certificate in diagnostic services are ​eligible for ​portions of institutional aid. The institutional aid is presented as an annual amount and is provided to students to on a semester-basis (e.g., a $12,000 Dean’s Scholarship is provided $6,000 in fall and $6,000 in spring). UF students enrolled in a diagnostic services program will only receive aid for the semester of coursework on UF's campus (didactic term). Institutional aid is not available for the following two semesters of clinical rotations. ​


Visiting (Transient) Students: Because your primary college is not the University of Findlay, your financial aid must be administered by your home institution.  You are not eligible to receive additional institutional aid from the University of Findlay.

Federal Grant and Loan Regulations for Certificate-Seeking Students​

UF Students: UF students pursuing a Nuclear Medicine Certificate are eligible for federal grants and loans. Actual amounts vary based on prior year and overall lifetime grant usage and loan borrowing. UF students pursuing a certificate in Sonography or Echocardiography are not eligible for Federal grants or loans. However, they are eligible for private loans.

Transient Students: Transient students' aid runs through their home institution. Please see your home institution's Financial Aid Office for more information.  



​Financial Aid Options for ​Associate or Bachelor's Degree-Seeking Students

Students pursuing either an associate or bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine, Sonography, or Echocardiography take a regular schedule of classes until their clinical year - either the second year in the associate degree program, or the fourth year in the bachelor's degree program.


Institutional Aid Availability for Degree-Seeking Students

UF Students: UF students are eligible for institutional aid in each non-clinical year. The institutional aid is presented as an annual amount and is provided to students to on a semester-basis (e.g., a $12,000 Dean's Scholarship is provided $6,000 in fall and $6,000 in spring). Once a student reaches the clinical year aid is awarded for the didactic term only. For example = regular institutional aid for years one through three of a bachelor's degree, then the institutional aid would apply for the didactic term only of the fourth year of study.


Transient Students: Transient students do not receive institutional aid. All aid runs through the home institution.
