    Mark has been an instructor in the Western Equestrian program since the Spring of 2004. He grew up on the coast of Maine and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Maine. He then attended Findlay College and earned an Associates of Arts in Western Equestrian Studies and Business Administration. He is married with two daughters.

    Mark has been a professional horse trainer for 28 years and has shown primarily Paint Horses. He and his wife managed several private breeding/show farms before starting their own business. They operated Mark Smith Training Center for 13 years in Pennsylvania, specializing in All-Around horses. Some of their accomplishments include: World, Reserve World, National and Reserve National Championships. They were also in the Top Ten Honor Roll in the nation in 11 different events, earned over 55 Superiors in six different events, and coached many youth and Amateurs to Top Ten and National titles. Mark has also trained, shown and achieved​ 33 APHA Champions.

    Mark continues to train and show horses and has the pleasure of doing this with his family. He also holds Judges cards with APHA, Ptha, NSBA, IBHA and PHBA. He has given numerous clinics and looks forward to teaching and working with others as he continues to be involved in the horse industry.
