    Background

     Mrs. Tippie joined the faculty in May 2011, bringing her experience in outpatient pediatric care and long term care involving behavioral health.  She holds multiple board positions for mental health agencies throughout Hancock County.  Her passion for community based practice led her to hold the position of Clinical Coordinator for Community Based Practice in Occupational Therapy here at The University of Findlay.


    Professional Activites

    Mrs. Tippie continues to strengthen relationships between The University of Findlay and Hancock County by being professionally involved in many aspects of the local community. She has expanded the clinical involvement for fieldwork students by building a clinical site in The Day Center, a community drop in center for individuals in homelessness/poverty.  She established connections with the Rehab Service Commission, a community mental health/substance abuse, job readiness program.  She also developed programming at the Hancock County Justice Center, the county jail, and expanding upon the already established sites, including; The Family Resource Center, a community behavioral pediatric center and Century Health, a community mental health facility. In addition, she is currently serving her second term on the board for Focus on Fiends, a drop-in-center for the mentally ill as the vice president and is on the advisory board for The Day Center, a local drop-in-center for individuals in homelessness/poverty. She has been a member of The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association (OOTA) since 2008.


    Research Interests 

    Mrs. Tippie has an interest in topics related to occupational therapy in community mental health, pediatrics related to sensory processing, and the county jail. She collaborates with faculty to develop research in the local county jail regarding occupational therapy treatment.
