At the University of Findlay, you can earn a Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) in just two years, completely online. Applicants are not required to take the graduate record exam (GRE). All courses are delivered in eight-week blocks year-round and students can enter the program in the fall, spring or summer.  

You will boost your skills and knowledge of information systems, informatics principles and information technology as it is applied to the continuum of healthcare delivery. Our health informatics program is an integrated discipline with specialty areas that include:

What is health informatics?

Health informatics is a science that defines how health information is technically captured, transmitted and used. Health informatics is concerned with information systems, informatics principles and information technology as they are applied along the healthcare continuum. It is an integrated discipline with specialty domains that include management science, management engineering principles, health care delivery and public health, patient safety, information science and computer technology. 



What can you do with a master’s degree in health informatics?

With the advent of health care reform, there is an increased focus on transparency in health care and patient demand for their health information to be available electronically. Health informatics is an evolving field. Responsible for the collection, storing and proper delivery of confidential medical data, the demand for these skilled individuals is rapidly surpassing the national supply.
