Degree Accreditation

Accreditation is important for a professional program because it is a clear measurement that the academic programs are, in fact, applicable to your chosen profession.

The Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) degree is accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council (EHAC). This gives our students the opportunity to network with major leaders in the industry and the unique opportunity to intern with the United States Public Health Service and the Center for Disease Control & Prevention.

The EHS&S degree was formerly known at the Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH) degree.

Program Educational Objectives

Graduates from the Environment, Health, Safety, & Sustainability program are educated and inspired to achieve the following program educational objectives within three to five years of their graduation:

  • Participation on multidisciplinary teams inside and outside their places of employment to facilitate effective and ethical initiatives and outcomes that benefit society and the human condition

  • Dedication to one's profession through active participation in environmental, health, safety, and sustainability- related organizations, providing assistance to local universities and high schools, and involvement in community events that promote and raise awareness of environmental protection, worker health and safety, and the sustainability of communities.
