Ohio has a varying climate with four distinct seasons:

Temperatures vary considerably from year to year. During spring, summer and fall moderate periods of rainfall occur; snow falls during the winter months and can be heavy. Three basic types of clothing are essential in winter; heavy jackets or overcoats; warm hats; scarves and gloves are needed. During chilly autumn and spring days, jackets are worn outdoors, sweaters indoors. A lightweight jacket is sometimes necessary for cool nights during spring, summer and fall.
Personal Items
We encourage students to bring personal and cultural items from home to help them feel more comfortable and to show to their new American friends. Students may want to bring items they use regularly that may not be readily available, or may be more expensive in the United States.
Checking-In
Once you arrive in Findlay, Ohio, you will need to check into the Office of International Admissions and Services. Our address is: 950 N. Main Street, Findlay, Ohio 45840. As an F-1 visa holder, you must check into our office within 30 days of your arrival. You should check-in immediately upon your arrival because there is important information you need to receive and so we can take care of your immediate needs.
When you check-in you will need to provide:

- Original I-20
When you check-in we can show you where you will be staying, give you orientation information, and have our Graduate Assistants help you with all of your questions. We want to make your transition into the University of Findlay as smooth as possible and we are always here to help you!
