The University Grant Library 

The University of Findlay has numerous volumes by The Foundation Center and other organizations that can be utilized for researching funding sources. These volumes are located in the Office of Sponsored Programs in CROY 206. A list of the volumes is attached. Again, since most of these volumes are several years old, it is suggested that you use them as an initial resource only. 


Foundation Center Cooperating Collections 

The Foundation Center has over 200 libraries across the United States that house cooperating collections for the Center. There is a collection at the reservation desk at the Hancock County Library. The cooperating collections consist of directories, newsletters, IRS Form 990s, and an online FC Search Database which are used to research sources of grant funding from foundations.

Foundation Search/Big Online

The Office of Sponsored Programs has purchased a subscription to BigOnline, a searchable database that allows users to locate funding opportunities from over 25,000 foundations and corporate donors. Funding sources can be located utilizing keyword searches or geographic searches by state or county. Links to the tax information or 990 forms of these organizations are also available through this subscription.

 

To utilize the system or ask for assistance in finding funding sources through BigOnline, contact Juliann Reineke at [email protected]​ with any of the following information:

  1. ​​Keywords that best describe your research interests (e.g. aging, cancer, rural health, biotechnology, brain disorders, theater). Grants personnel will use the keywords to match your research interests with available funding opportunities.
  2. List of all agencies, foundations, or funding sources for which you would like detailed information.
  3. Name of university that received funding you're interested in accessing.
