​​Welcome to The University of Findlay’s Office of Sponsored Programs and Professional Services. This entity was created in 2011 to help increase revenue from sources other than that paid by students and their families for instruction and housing.  These revenue sources include:  ​

Sponsored Programs (Grants) 
The University of Findlay encourages the efforts of faculty and staff to secure external funding for research and special projects that enhance teaching and learning. By obtaining grants to fund teaching, research, and other academic programs and projects, faculty and staff members enhance their own professional scholarship and service to our students.

The Office of Pre-award Sponsored Programs offers various services to faculty and staff as they develop grant proposals. Some services offered by the office include:
  • Searching for potential grants
  • Conducting research on funders
  • Supplying a summary of an RFP or grant guidelines
  • Leading  project development team
  • Assessing project's competitive prospects
  • Assisting with further design of project idea
  • Providing critical feedback on draft materials developed by project team
  • Supplying boilerplate information about the university
  • Proofreading and editing proposal
  • Assisting in preparing federal forms
  • Assisting in budget preparation
  • Assisting in research and data gathering
 
Professional Services ​ ​

Professional Services acts as the Business Development Office for the University. It is also the primary outlet for Continuing Education. The University works with faculty, staff, area businesses, outside entities, and related organizations to conduct a host of fee paid projects with extensive breadth and depth. Flexibility is the key approach, focusing on successful ventures for all stakeholders. Projects can include any of the following:

  • Consulting
  • Clinical Services
  • Continuing Education
  • Training
  • Research
  • Lab Rental
  • Workforce Development
  • Project Management
  • Cost Calculation and Control

 

One related, stand-alone entity is the ALL Hazards Training Center (AHTC) which specializes in environmental, safety, health, and security training and consulting for both private and public sector entities across the entire country. For more information, click on www.findlayallhazards.com.
