Services

Individual Counseling

Students can talk alone with a counselor in a safe and private environment, without risk of being judged. Counselors are objective and confidential.  Sessions are by appointment when possible, and usually last 50 minutes.  Counseling staff will help students identify and attain personal goals.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling can help students learn how to communicate more effectively with a partner, resolve conflict, and develop a more mutually satisfying relationship.

Group Counseling

Group counseling provides a place to talk about concerns, to learn about alternative ways of looking at personal problems and to share with other students who have similar issues, all while gaining support from group members and counselors. Support groups vary each semester depending on need and interest.  Examples of past groups include grief, body image, self esteem, sexual assault/abuse, depression, and anxiety.

Outreach Education

Outreach programs are a service provided by Counseling Services to assist in the development of UF students, faculty and staff.  Programs focus on relevant issues such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, alcohol abuse, stress management, relaxation, and relationship skills.
