​​​​​​​​​CORE+ Curriculum

Function:

​​The General Education Committee is responsible for overseeing the creation, delivery, and assessment of the University's CORE+ curriculum. CORE+ is UF's unique general education program.​ It includes outcomes for Critical thinking, Oral and written communication, Relationships to the world, and Engagement for meaningful lives and productive careers, along with experiental learning (which makes up the "+" in CORE+).


Specifically, the General Education Committee is responsible for the following:

  • Researching, commuicating and proposing implementation of nationally accepted theories and practices of general education;
  • Systematically and objectively evaluating new course applications for ​CORE+ status;​

  • Periodically reviewing existing courses that make up the CORE+ curriculum;

  • Presenting courses recommended for CORE+ status to Undergraduate Council;

  • Assessing and recommending changes to the University of Findlay’s CORE+ program in accordance with the University of Findlay’s mission statement and external accrediting requirements.​


2023-2024 Committee Goals

Goal 1: To continue full implementation of the full CORE+ program on campus and facilitate training of all students and faculty involved. 
Goal 2: To support the strengthening of the CORE+ program by inclusion of additional course offerings.
Goal 3:  To evaluate and enhance CORE+ assessment processes in conjunction with campus stakeholders. ​

August- Summer LAT evaluations due

September- AMS annual evaluations due

January- Fall LAT evaluations due

February- LAT feedback released​

May- Spring LAT evaluations due

June- LAT feedback released
