Each year the Parent Executive Council votes on a project that supports all University of Findlay students. And each year, more and more parents show their support for their students and this institution by making a gift to the University of Findlay Parent Fund.
This 2020-2021 University of Findlay Parent Fund will support the Student Emergency Fund
The Student Emergency Fund provides financial support in the form of a one-time grant of up to $500 to a limited number of University of Findlay students who experience unexpected financial hardship resulting from unexpected emergency situations including, but not limited to:
- extenuating family circumstances
- an act of nature
- or other extreme difficulties
While the UF Student Emergency Fund was established as a result of the financial impact COVID-19 has had on some of our students, we recognize that University of Findlay students and families face a variety of hardships and we want to help our students have access to emergency funds. The goal of the 2020-2021 Parent Fund project is to fully endow the UF Student Emergency Fund in an effort to help students for years to come beyond pandemic related instances.
Past Parent Fund projects have included:
- support for upgrades to the Newhard Planetarium
- solar powered picnic tables & new bicycle racks
upgrades to campus recycling & refillable water bottle stations
trees & benches for the green space at the Center for Student Life & College of Business
the Knowledge Bar in Shafer Library
new furniture in the Alumni Memorial Union
