Request a Workshop!
If you would like to request a workshop for a class, student organization or faculty/staff meeting, please complete the Workshop Request Form. The form includes short descriptions of each training available through the Office for Civil Rights. Customized workshops will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Pregnancy & Parenting
The University of Findlay is committed to fostering and maintaining an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible environment for pregnant and parenting individuals. If you are a student experiencing pregnancy, pregnancy-related condition(s), or are newly parenting, please visit the Office for Civil Rights website at https://www.findlay.edu/offices/student-affairs/civil-rights/pregnancy-and-parenting for resources, support, and assistance with reasonable modification requests (such as excused absences, extended deadlines, priority registration, and others).
Optional Responsible Employee Language for Syllabus Template
APAC and Faculty Senate approved the following optional language for inclusion in the syllabus template (approved 10-26-20; revised 7-15-2025).
I am a responsible employee at UF, which means I am not a confidential resource. Therefore, I am required to report any information that I am aware that may violate UF's Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, and Other Forms of Sexual Misconduct Policy . If you would like to speak with someone confidentially, please contact Counseling Services, Cosiano Health Center or Campus Ministries. Other resources include Open Arms and Blanchard Valley Hospital. Otherwise, if you would like to report an incident involving a possible violation of UF's Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, and Other Forms of Sexual Misconduct Policy , please contact UF's Civil Rights/Title IX Coordinator at 419-434-4739.
Classroom Environment, Language, and Behavior Expectations
In order to promote an inclusive and constructive learning environment, demeaning, marginalizing, and otherwise negative language and behavior will not be tolerated in the classroom. Respect and courtesy toward the instructor, classmates, and classroom guests are expected. Language and behaviors that are disruptive, abusive, or harassing may result in disciplinary action as specified by the Student's Rights and Responsibilities Statement.
Vector Solutions - Online Training Platform
In addition to Title IX related topics, the Vector Solutions Student platform offers a variety of courses that include topics such as general campus safety, diversity and inclusion, online safety, study skills & time management skills. If you are interested in having your students complete one these courses, please reach out to the Office for Civil Rights (419-434-4739). We're happy to discuss the possibility further, and determine what courses may or may not be appropriate.
Ideas for your Classroom
Consider incorporating lessons, assignments, and extra credit that enable students to learn about discrimination and harassment, including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. The following list provides ideas for possible lessons, assignments and extra credit:
- Students write a paper or project related to the topics of harassment, discrimination, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, gender equity, bystander intervention, Title IX, etc.
- Students read an article or other reading related to the topics of harassment, discrimination, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, gender equity, bystander intervention, Title IX, etc.
- Students attend an event or program such as Oiler Ally Training, Take Back the Night
- Invite the Office for Civil Rights to your classroom to present & engage with students
- Invite a guest speaker to present on topics related to discrimination, harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, gender equity, bystander intervention, Title IX, etc.
- Show a documentary or movie related to harassment, discrimination, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, gender equity, bystander intervention, Title IX, etc.
- Encourage students to participate in training sponsored by Oilers Changing Campus Culture (OC3). Trainings include Creating a Consent Culture across Ohio, Step Up! Bystander Intervention, One Love Escalation Training, and Transition to the Workplace.
- Encourage students to participate in Movember (November), Love Yourself Enough Month (February) and Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April) activities
- Encourage students to complete their online Title IX training through Vector Solutions (spring semester)
Program and Event Ideas
Consider participating in and hosting programs and events for employees and students that enable them to learn about discrimination and harassment, including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. The following list provides ideas for possible programs and events:
- Participate in mandatory Civil Rights/Title IX training for faculty and staff
- Attend SafeZone Training
- Host a SafeZone training for your department or Oiler Ally Training for your student group
- Invite the Office for Civil Rights to your department, student organization meeting, or other events to present to and engage with staff and students
- Invite a guest speaker to present on topics related to discrimination, harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, gender equity, bystander intervention, Title IX, etc.
- Lead an activity related to the topics of harassment, discrimination, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, gender equity, bystander intervention, Title IX, etc.
- Participate in and encourage others to participate in prevention/education programs sponsored by Oilers Changing Campus Culture (OC3) including Movember (November), Love Yourself Enough Month (February) and Sexual Assault Awareness Month (April).
