The University of Findlay is committed to creating a safe environment for everyone. The Office for Civil Rights supports a campus culture that celebrates healthy relationships and mutual respect. We commit to respond to incidents, support individuals through University processes, and educate our campus community.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that states: “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Prevention & Education​ is provided to campus through Oilers Changing Campus Culture (OC3). We believe that education about topics related to Non-Discriminaiton and Title IX can empower our community to change the campus culture. Our staff programming board for OC3 carries out a robust schedule of programs and events that are grounded in theory, data from our bi-annual campus climate survey, and the resources available across campus​. The OC3 student group aides professional staff in these efforts.

Know Your Rights

You have a right to...

  • Live and learn at UF free from discrimination.
  • File a complaint of discrimination or harassment under UF's Non-Discrimination Policy or UF's Title IX Policy.
  • Make a police report and request a criminal investigation with law enforcement.
  • Supportive measures to help you live and learn at UF, such as housing or academic accommodation.
  • Request a no-contact order from UF or to pursue a Civil Protection Order from the courts.
  • Utilize services, support, and processes at UF without fear of retaliation.
  • Access on-campus and off-campus support services.
  • These rights regardless of your race, color, ethnicity; national origin; age; sex; sexual orientation; gender identity or expression; physical or mental disability; religion; or any other protected class.
