College of Business Scholarships ​

All endowed scholarships are available to UF sophomores, juniors and seniors. A limited number of scholarships are available to incoming freshmen, and these scholarships are awarded as part of the regular freshman admissions process. Endowed scholarships range from $500 - $1,500 each year.


Russel and Peg Armstrong Business Scholarship 

Awarded to business majors who hold a 3.0 GPA or better 

One to two scholarships awarded annually* 

Established by Marguerite “Peg” Armstrong to honor her late husband’s achievements and success in their own business 


Wayne E. Baltzell Hospitality Scholarship 

Awarded to full-time students in the hospitality management program who have a 2.75 GPA or better 

One to two scholarships awarded annually* 

Established by Wayne E. Baltzell’s loving family and friends


Dr. Kenneth J. Buchenroth Scholarship 

Awarded to students majoring in accounting who hold a 3.3 GPA or better 

One to two scholarships awarded annually* 

Established by the friends and students of Dr. Kenneth J. Buchenroth in his honor 


Jane Eoff Burson Scholarship 

Awarded to female students interested in pursing careers in business 

One to two scholarships awarded annually* 

Established in Mrs. Burson’s honor on her birthday in 1993 by her son, John, a UF trustee emeritus 


R.M. Churchwell Scholarship 

Awarded to business majors who have a 3.0 GPA or better 

Three to four scholarships awarded annually* 

Established by friends and family of R.M. Churchwell in his memory  


George and Nellie Crosby Scholarship 

Awarded to freshmen majoring in business who display distinct Christian ethics and leadership qualities by involvement in extracurricular activities in high school or preparatory school 

One to two scholarships awarded annually*  

Established by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Crosby, in honor of Philip's grandparents, George and Nellie Crosby 


Thomas B. Donnell Business Leadership Award 

Awarded to students pursuing a business administration degree who are in their third year of study at UF and have a 2.75 GPA or better. Recipients must have also demonstrated a willingness and ability to participate in extracurricular activities.

Filtech Inc. Scholarship 

Awarded to a student majoring in international business or business administration with an interest in international business. Student(s) must have a 3.0 GPA or greater.

John W. ’14 and Hester (Powell ’19) Grimm Business Scholarship 

Awarded to business administration majors who maintain a 3.0 GPA or greater 

Eight to nine scholarships awarded annually* 

Established by Hester Powell Grimm 


Shiv K. Gupta Business Scholarship 

Awarded to students majoring in business who exhibit leadership qualities, entrepreneurial spirit and is involved in campus activities. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA or better 

Two scholarships awarded annually* 

Established by former students and friends of Professor Shiv K. Gupta to honor his dedication and guidance to students in the College of Business 


James “Jim” Heck Scholarship 

Awarded to students who have an interest in business and/or real estate, investment or development who maintain a 2.7 GPA or greater

Established by Beth Bradley Heck to honor her husband


John L. Houston ’42 Scholarship 

Awarded to business majors who are graduates of Van Buren High School or another Hancock County high school, who hold a 3.0 GPA or better

Hospitality Management Scholarship 

Awarded to hospitality management majors in their sophomore, junior or senior years

Charles A. Jackson Scholarship 

Awarded to deserving business administration majors who have exhibited leadership in campus activities, clubs and organizations

Janet R. January ’64 Scholarship 

Awarded to full-time accounting majors who have attended a high school in Hancock County who hold a 3.5 GPA or better

Harry M. Kirk Memorial Scholarship 

Awarded annually to an academically outstanding junior or senior business student

Awarded to academically deserving students pursing bachelor's degrees in economics

Awarded to female residents of Hancock County who are pursuing business-related majors, are juniors or seniors, and maintain a 3.2 GPA or greater

Six Disciplines Entrepreneurial Excellence Scholarship 

Awarded to students who show entrepreneurial excellence in business by starting, helping or assisting in the development of a business to help others become more productive

Thomas Jewelers Scholarship 

Awarded to students majoring in marketing who have graduated from a Hancock County high school and have a GPA of 3.0 or better

John ’61 and Linda Weaver Business Scholarship 

Awarded to full-time students majoring in business who demonstrate leadership qualities and enthusiastically pursue careers in marketing. Recipients must carry between a 2.6 and 3.0 GPA.

Awarded to a matriculated hospitality management student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and a penchant for the hospitality business
